StarBox® Voice Optimized SD-WAN Family

Each Star2Star Hybrid system includes a StarBox^® Voice Optimized SD-WAN that connects to one of our data centers. This tool allows us to manage and monitor the quality of your phone system and helps us guarantee 99.999% reliability and substantial costs savings.

A StarBox is an edge router installed between your firewall and Internet connection.  It is tranparent and can be used in bridge mode to preserve your outside IP address connectivity to any systems you have on your LAN.  Its main purpose is to traffic shape the data so that voice traffic has priority over data so that there are no voice dropouts.  Voice traffic typically takes up only 5% of your total bandwidth, but needs to be protected.  This is the element that makes the Star2Star system unique and more reiable than other hosted solutions. The StarBox also includes the ability to route internal calls, and also provide a central repository for any update files to the VoIP phones.
